For blepharitis cases amenable to better lid hygiene, optometrists now have another treatment to consider: Acuicyn Antimicrobial Eyelid and Eyelash Hygiene solution, manufactured by Sonoma Pharmaceuticals. The recently launched cleaner is designed to remove eyelid crusting and debris, and help manage red, itchy and inflamed eyes, according to the company.

Acuicyn, available by prescription only, uses 100% hypochlorous acid as its active ingredient. The company says the product doesn’t sting or burn upon instillation.
