Area Purifier
The Air Mini, from AIT Industries, eliminates the strong smells that emanate from a grinding machine when edging Trivex, polycarbonate and high-index lenses. Specifically, the de-vice reduces more than 98% of dust and smoke and 90% of odors that come from new lens materials, AIT says.
The Air Mini is small enough to be stored near or underneath your edging cabinet. You can attach it to any major edging system.
Call 1-800-729-1959, or go to www.aitindustries.com.
The Riki Pad, from Miki Sangyo, is designed for use on super hydrophobic-coated lenses during the edging process. The pad, which works in conjunction with a blocking pad, attaches to the lens to decrease the slipping angle. Also, it eliminates the need for an edging mask by providing a non-slip, anti-torque surface with which to adhere, the company says. Once edging is complete, the Riki Pad releases from the lens via a finger tab, and no glue residue is left on the lens surface.
You can use the pads on any size lens and on all super hydrophobic coatings. They come in sheets/packs of 2,000 (four pads per sheet) or in roles of 2,000.
