Optometrists looking for more information about the coronavirus and what it means for the profession can join New England College of Optometry (NECO), Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO) and Boston Eye Group & Boston Laser (BEG) for a series of virtual talks, “Conversations about COVID-19 for Eye Care Professionals.” The content is designed to give viewers a better understanding of COVID-19 and how to prepare for post-pandemic office reopenings, according to a joint statement.
The series continues every Tuesday evening for the month of April, with the next webinar—slated for 7:30pm to 8:30pm on April 14—focused on personal protective equipment, therapies and contact lenses.
Moderated by Gary Y. Chu, OD, MPH, vice president of Professional Affairs at NECO, the panel will consist of Marlene L. Durand, MD, director of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Samir Melki, MD, PhD, medical director at BEG and Anita Gulmiri, OD, assistant professor of Clinical Optometry at NECO.
While the content is free to all registrants, CE is only provided as a Massachusetts Approved certification for MA licensure renewal at the conclusion of each presentation.
