If your contact lens patients complain about end-of-day comfort, now there’s a new option you could suggest: a heat compress from Bruder called Eyeleve, which the company says can add up to three hours of comfortable lens wear daily. Specifically, study data shows an improvement in meibomian gland scores and reduction in discomfort, according to Bruder.
The microwave-activated Eyeleve provides a moist heat to the external eyelids. To reduce infection risk—a particular concern in contact lens wearers, who have elevated levels of bacterial flora—the mask has antimicrobial threads woven into the fabric of the compress. Bruder also says the shape of the mask is contoured for better patient ergonomics and comfort.
